US: CPI rose 1.6% in January, matching estimates
The Department of Labour has informed that US consumer prices rose 1.6% in a year to January, matching the median. On a monthly basis, prices came in flat.
Core CPI, which strips food and energy costs, rose 1.9% over the last twelve months and 0.3% MoM. Market consensus was expecting +1.8% and +0.1% respectively.
